We will have our first ever Conservation Season Goose Hunt on Friday night 1/23/04 - Saturday, 1/24/04 with W.S. Sherrill Waterfowl near Wharton. During the Conservation Season there is no daily bag limit, shotgun plugs are not required, and hunters can use electronic calls. We presently have five hunters committed but can handle at least three more. I, Randy Rowley, recommend that hunters stay at the Inn of Texas in Wharton (979-532-0301) on Friday night. Our hunters will meet Bill at the Pierce Cafe at 4:15 AM on Saturday. Up to four hunters can share a room. Please make your own hotel reservations. The cost of the hunt is $165.00 for a 1/2 day hunt. Send your hunt fee to me at 11612 Birchbark Trail, Austin, TX, 78750, as soon as possible in order to hold your spot. Make your check payable to W.S. Sherrill Waterfowl. After I mail in the checks hunters will be unable to get refunds. The Pierce Ranch now has bird pluckers/breasters. They charge $2.50/goose. Waders are recommended and may be absolutely necessary. Remember to buy both the federal and state waterfowl (duck) stamps (the state stamp is part of the super combo license). Contact me for more information at 512-963-0003.
