The FCS "Defensive Pistol" Class with KR Training (http://www.krtraining.com/) will be held during the spring of 2008 on a Saturday from 9:00 AM - 12:00 PM.
Several club members took the “Beyond the Basics” pistol class from Karl and found it to be a very fun and worthwhile class. The cost is $60.00 for the three hour course. We must four commitments. If you want to be included you must get me your entire fee ASAP.

Course Description: This course is an introduction to the fundamentals of defensive handgunning similar to first-level courses taught at the major shooting academies. This course covers some of the same material covered in Advanced Training 1. The emphasis is on learning gun handling and movement skills.
Topics: review of gun safety and shooting fundamentals, drawing from the holster, reloads, extreme close range shooting, use of cover and generally developing proficiency with the handgun under stress.
Prerequisites: Texas CHL or instructor approval required. Basic Pistol 2 or Beyond the Basics or equivalent training strongly recommended.
Required Equipment: A centerfire handgun, belt holster, a minimum of 2 spare magazines or speedloaders, magazine/speedloader carriers, eye and ear protection, a baseball cap (to deflect spent brass and keep the sun out of your eyes) and a minimum of 200 rounds of ammunition.
