10/12/07

The July – September quarter of 2007 was a great one for FCS!  We had our second best attendance yet for this quarter with 138 participants.  We blew away what was our average for this quarter (80)!  We had 16 events for this quarter, which was a new record!  In addition we had five men and one woman join the Club during this quarter and 11 men renewed their memberships.  We set three milestones this quarter: 1. We have now had over 10,000 visitors to our website, 2. We have now had over 500 adults participate in FCS activities or affiliate themselves with the Club, and 3. We have now implemented over 400 events!  I was also contacted by a group of men from Hays Hills Baptist Church who plan on starting a Buda Chapter of FCS in the near future!

We had eight officer votes, one active member’s vote, and three polls during the third quarter of 2007.

The next quarter promises to be an exciting one for FCS members and guests.  We have 15 events planned.  We had a Club meeting on 10/4/07, a dove hunt near Woodson on 10/6/07, and an FCS Booth at TPWDs Expo on 10/6/07 – 10/7/07.  We'll have dove hunts near Woodson during every weekend remaining in October.  We’ll have a Shooting Range Shoot on 10/13/07; clay target shoots on 10/27/07, 11/17/07, and 12/15/07; an Officer’s Meeting on 11/5/07; a Guided Waterfowl Hunt on 11/9/07 - 11/10/07; an Upland Bird Hunt on 12/1/07; a Club Meeting on 12/13/07; and a Non-Guided Hart Lion’s Club Pheasant, Waterfowl, and Prairie Dog Hunt on 12/26/07 – 12/30/07.

The FCS - Great Hills Baptist Church (GHBC) Bible Life (Sunday School) Class continues to roll along with nine regular members.  The men are studying "Measure of a Man" by Gene Getz.  The book focuses on what it takes to be a man of God.  Men will gain encouragement for what they can be in Christ — as fathers, husbands, and mentors to other men.  The Measure of a Man teaches men how to live faithfully, lovingly, and spiritually according to God's direction.  The book is drawn from Paul's letters to Timothy and Titus and speaks in practical terms to men from every generation with life applications and words of inspiration.  The ladies are studying "Dick Eastman on Prayer."  It features three of Dick Eastman's best-selling books on prayer that have been bound together into one exciting volume.  Ladies will develop a passion and a workable strategy for world-changing prayer by applying the principles found in No Easy Road, The Hour That Changes the World, and Love On Its Knees.  Please let me know if you have any questions or if you would like to attend the department.

We will hopefully have some coffee cup options to present to you soon.

I hope to see you at an FCS event soon.
