10/27/07 Five Stand and Skeet Shoot and Luncheon Benefiting the Christian Women's Job Corps

 

 

Our next FCS Five Stand and Skeet Shoot will be held on Saturday, 10/27/07 (9:00 AM - 1:00 PM) at the Onion Creek Ranch (215 Dodgen Trail, Buda).  We'll divide up into at least two groups.  One will shoot Five Stand while the other shoots Skeet.  They'll then switch.  The cost is $40.00/person for a round of 50 Five Stand, 25 Skeet, and lunch.  A round of Five Stand at Capitol City Trap & Skeet Club costs $26 and a round of Skeet costs $10.00 (total of $36.00).  Four $4.00 more at the Onion Creek Ranch you'll get a home cooked meal.

All proceeds over costs will go to the Christian Women's Job Corps (CWJC).  My wife, Chris, is the Director of the Austin chapter.  CWJC is a national organization that was created by the Women's Missionary Union (WMU) of the Southern Baptist Convention.  Basically they have classes for women who are trapped in poverty and teach them computer, resume, interview, and life skills.  They also have Bible study and prayer.  They have had many conversions and Baptisms in each class.  After they graduate they pair the graduate with a mentor for continued growth and follow up.

This is a great event to take your family to.  The Onion Creek Ranch requires eye and ear protection.  A shotgun is not required (there are many of us who would be happy to share our shotguns with you).

From anywhere near I-35

  • Take I-35 South toward Buda
  • Take Exit 225 (Onion Creek Pkwy.)
  • Turn Right onto FM. 1626
  • Turn Right on FM 967 (going toward Driftwood; there is a large Shell Gas Station on the corner where you turn)
  • After turning onto 967 you will pass Dahlstrom Middle School on your right
  • Slow down and start looking on your left
  • Just a few blocks past the school you will see Dodgen Trail on your left; turn Left there
  • Go straight and it will dead in to the Ranch Gate
  • Open the gate and drive in.  Please be sure and shut (and chain) the gate behind you.  There are lots of exotic game on this ranch and we don’t want to let them out!
