The meeting was held at Larry Dowden's home.  Three officers, four members, one guest, two junior members, and one child attended (11 participants).  The 1997 ballot was distributed.  NAC officers for 1/1/98 through 12/31/99 are as follows: President - Eddy Chance, Vice President -Jason Behm, Secretary - Randy Rowley, Treasurer - Larry Dowden.  The results of the proposition are as follows: Proposition 1: The Fellowship of Christian Sportsmen should amend it's bylaws regarding conduct (hunting and fishing practices section) to read that only game birds/animals/fish, varmits or other creatures (such as hogs) that will have their meat and/or pelts used are allowed to be harvested on FCS outings.  Harvesting non-game creatures and "leaving them where they lay" is prohibited.  For 2, Against 3, Abstain 1 (the proposition failed).  Proposition 2: The Fellowship of Christian Sportsmen should amend it's bylaws regarding conduct (Christian Walk section) to read that 1. The use or possession of Alcohol and illegal drugs are prohibited at FCS outings, 2. The use of profanity is prohibited at FCS outings, and 3. The use of tobacco products is strongly discouraged at FCS outings. For 6, Against 0, Abstain 0 (the proposition passed).  Proposition 3: The Fellowship of Christian Sportsmen should amend it's bylaws regarding membership to read that Members shall consist of those men who: 1. Have expressed a desire to be a member by completing a pre-membership application (including agreeing to abide by the bylaws of the Club and conducting themselves as a Christian Sportsmen and agreeing with the Club's Statement of Faith and upholding it's policies and practices). 2. Have paid a one year, three year or five year membership due. The requirements to attend at least one outing or meeting of the Club and to have been approved as a member by a majority vote of the members present at any official meeting of the Club will be deleted.  This would require amending the pre-membership application also.  For 6, Against 0, Abstain 0 (the proposition passed).  The two propositions that passed will be voted on at the 11/6/97 South Austin Chapter Meeting.  If proposition 3 is passed we will include an application at our website and on our brochure.  The annual questionnaire was distributed.  A discussion was held on upcoming events.  The video "Fighting Whitetails" and a home video on 4 wheeler riding in the mud were shown.  The new T- shirts were available for membership renewals or purchase.
