12/15/07 Sporting Clays and Skeet Shoot

One officer, two members, and one son (four total participants) had a challenging time at the 12/15/07 Sporting Clays and Skeet Shoot at the Capitol City Trap & Skeet Range.  It was a cool and very windy day.  The targets that had the wind at their back were very challenging.  Those that were going into the wind were pretty easy.  On our first station we had a teal that went straight up.  The wind caught it and if we didn't shoot it quick it would be behind us!  On our second station there was a bird that was supposed to go over our heads from behind us.  The problem is it was going into the wind and it rarely made it!  We had to shoot from outside of the shooters box in order to shoot it.

Tim Price went 8 for his first 10 targets (24 for his first 26) and never looked back.  He ended up with 37/50.  Isaac Price came in second with 32/50.  I, Randy Rowley, came in third with 29/50 (after a miserable 1 for 10 start).  Van Short was next with 28/50.  This was Van's first FCS Sporting Clays Shoot at Capitol City (although he did go on this year's 24 Hour Sporting Clays Shoot).  Isaac was our most consistent shooter.  The worst that he did was 4/8 and his best was 7/8.

Tim and Isaac also shot a round of skeet.

I led us in a devotional on Close Encounters (by me).
