5. A discussion was held on charging a members fee and a non-members fee at events that the Club controls the price to a certain degree (currently only the Dove Retreats). The non-members fee shall be exactly the cost of membership plus the members fee (currently members pay $30.00 for a dove retreat, non members would pay $45.00). The non-members can elect to have the extra fee applied as a pre-membership application fee or go towards the Club General Fund. Standard membership bylaws would apply. A vote was not taken. The discussion was tabled.
6. A proposal was made on having one month of the year for membership renewals (January) rather than the current system of renewing on your membership anniversary date. A discussion was held and a vote was taken. The proposal passed unanimously. It already was approved by the North Austin Chapter on 2/6/97. It will take effect on 1/1/98 and will change the bylaws regarding membership to read as follows: B. Membership renewals will be made available beginning the first month of each calendar year. Current members up for renewal will be given a renewal reminder at the January (Winter) Dove Retreat or have one mailed to them along with the January - March newsletter if they did not attend the Winter Dove Retreat. Men who join at a month other than January (September for example) would still be asked to renew in January with no pro-rata. In that scenario the only membership benefit that they would not receive is three more newsletters.
7. A discussion was held on creating a FCS Calendar as a membership benefit for 1998. The calendar will feature only one photograph with the months designed to be torn off when they are through. A Photo Selection Committee will be formed to select the FCS Photo of the year. If interested in serving on the Committee contact Eddy Chance (North Austin Chapter, 331-7828) or Tom Grass (South Austin Chapter, 929-7243).

It will not be implemented until approval by the North Austin Chapter at the next General Meeting.
