Our 7th Annual Waterfowl Hunt is scheduled for Friday evening, 11/11/05 - Saturday afternoon, 11/12/05 with Bill Sherrill Waterfowl near Wharton. We have hunted with Bill for geese in 1999, ducks in 2000, ducks and geese in 2001 and 2002, ducks in 2003, and geese during the conservation season in 2004. We hunted ducks with Tim Kelly and geese with the Blue Goose Hunt Club during the regular season in 2004 and did not do nearly as well so we are returning to Bill for the 2005 Duck Hunt. With Bill we either limited out or came very close during all four of our duck hunts with him. I talked to Bill on 8/30/05 and he said that we will not be hunting out of blinds. The cost is $165.00 plus tip. We usually tip 10 - 15% for an average effort and 20% for an exceptional effort. Hunters will caravan from Austin on Friday night, eat on the road, stay at the Inn of Texas in Wharton, meet at their cafe at 4:00 AM, hunt, eat while the birds are being breasted ($2.00/duck), and drive back to Austin. Right now I have two groups reserved and nine hunters who have committed (six want to hunt ducks and three want to hunt geese). If I get four deposits for geese we will also have a goose hunt.
