3/24/06 - 3/26/06 Hog Hunt

One officer and four members (five participants) had a great time at the 3/24/06 - 3/26/06 Hog Hunt at Mr. Charlie Batts land at the Y.O. Ranch.  We saw lots of whitetail, fallow, and axis deer, blackbuck antelope, dove, quail, and a turkey, but not any hogs.  Charlie's neighbor fired eight shots in quick succession on the late afternoon of 3/24/06.  We don't know how long that he had been hunting hogs on his land, but he probably scared the hogs on Charlie's land away.  We played pool at the Y.O. lodge and shot rifles at the Y.O. Rifle Range.  The weather was cold in the mornings and warm in the afternoons.  We enjoyed using the FCS Pop-Up Camper and got the air conditioning running.  Thanks to Jim Gault for bringing a pot of homemade beans and to Charlie for allowing other FCS members to enjoy his land and for paying for an “upgrade” on our steaks.
