4/22/93 General Meeting minutes

The meeting was held at Eddy Chance's home.  Twelve members were present.

  1. The meeting was called to order by the President.

  2. A FCS evaluation was passed out and completed by ten of the twelve members present.

  3. A discussion was held on holding bi-monthly meetings verses quarterly meetings.  A graph detailing quarterly meeting attendance verse bi-monthly meeting attendance was explained.  After much discussion concerning the drop of attendance when bi-monthly meetings were implemented, a vote was taken.  By unanimous vote the club members present decided to continue with bi- monthly meetings. Discussion was also held on shortening the business meeting section of the meetings or only having a business meeting every other meeting. The officers will further discuss this matter at the next officers meeting.

  4. A discussion was held on the mail out policy.  The Vice President (Information) brought up the fact that mail outs take 3 hours or more of his time.  He also brought up the fact that many members were contacting him and requesting to have flyers, newsletters, membership packets, etc. mailed to friends, relatives, neighbors and even people that they met at gas stations, shopping malls, etc.  These mail outs also take a considerable amount of time.  After a lengthy discussion, it was recommended to discontinue mail outs (with the exception of members who live out of town).  The recommendation further stated that if a member knows a person who he would like to receive information on the club, the member should bring his friend to a bi-monthly meeting (where the information can be readily obtained).  The recommendation was put to a vote.  It passed unanimously.
