4/23/99 - 4/24/99 Hog Hunt

Three NAC officers, Two SAC officers, four NAC members, and three NAC youth members participated (12 total participants) at the 4/23/99 - 4/24/99 Hog Hunt at the Pierce Ranch near El Campo.  The ranch has 32,000 acres.  Gun hunters hunted from box stands or tripods.  Bow hunters hunted from tripods.  Warren Hoke took a nice boar.  Larry Dowden shot three hogs (we found two).  Eddy Chance shot one with his bow and one with Larry's carbine.  We found the one shot by the rifle, but the arrowed hog went swimming across a river.  Tim Price killed a nice shallot (young pig).  Finally the Rabbit Swayer is now known as the Hog Swayer (AKA Dennis Koch) because he killed his first pig!  The mosquitoes were thick, but everyone came prepared with lots of OFF!
