5/4/07 - 5/5/07 24 Hour Sporting Clays Shoot (by Eddy Chance)

One officer, six members, three guests, and one youth son (a record 11 participants) had a great time at the 5/4/07 - 5/5/07 24 Hour Sporting Clays Shoot at the 74 Ranch.  Kyle Pruitt, his father Bobby, and James Peterson were first time guests.  The weather was very nice and overcast and only warmed up a little during the middle of the day on Saturday.  As usual the food was amazing.

Van Short joined Larry Dowden and I on the first day.  He did amazingly well for someone who had only hunted dove and ducks and had only shot skeet once.

Everyone was amazed at how well they fed us and the quality of the accommodations.  On Saturday night we had the most amazing filet mignon.  It was by far the best and most tender steak I’ve ever eaten.

I only shot one box shy of three cases this time.  I was amazed at how much better I was at shooting some of the harder shots.  The most fun I has was at one of the tower stations where we took turns just shooting what ever Bobby sent at us.  It was so fast and furious I only had time to load one shell at a time and just shot instinctively.  I was amazed at how many skeet I was able to hit…it was a blast.  Everyone else did great in improving there ability to hit the hard to make shots.

I highly recommend that if you want to improve you shooting to attend the next 24 hour Sporting Clays shoot.
