The meeting was held at New Hope Church (NHC). One SAC officer, two SAC members, and one NAC officer were present (four total participants). A video on hunting exotics was shown. A discussion was held on upcoming events. The Annual SAC elections were held. David Chalmers was elected as President, Warren Hoke as Vice President, Jack Shelton was retained as Treasurer (SAC only), and Mark Weaver was retained as Chaplain. Written votes were held on three propositions. Proposition 1 (proposed by Randy Rowley) stated: “The FCS bylaw regarding membership dues and benefits (section III) should be amended to read that the annual membership due is $12.00 (prorated monthly) and eliminate the corresponding benefits of a T-shirt or cap and a patch. Window decals will continue to be presented to new members. T-shirts and caps will continue to be available to members for purchase at the usual prices.” For - 1, Against – 0, Abstain – 1. Proposition 2 (proposed by Randy Rowley) stated: “The FCS 1999 calendar should be amended as follows: The remaining joint meeting for 1999, scheduled for Thursday, 7/1/99 at Pok-E-Jo’s Barbecue on 5th Street should be cancelled. A SAC meeting should be held in its place at NHC. Joint Meetings should not be placed on future calendars.” For –1, Against – 2, Abstain – 0. The proposition failed. Editor’s note: This proposition was made due to the poor attendance by SAC members at General Meetings. NAC members were traveling an average of 15 miles to the Pok-E-Jo’s on 5th Street in order to meet with the SAC members. However, there were several complaints from NAC members that they were burning gas and wasting time to drive all the way to 5th Street and the SAC members were not showing. The SAC members expressed that they wanted to continue the General Meetings, however, they were willing to move the moving site to the Pok-E-Jo’s on Great Hills Trail (in Northwest Austin). Proposition 3 (proposed by Randy Rowley) stated: “Laser Tag should be placed on the calendar for Tuesday, 6/15/99, 7:00 P.M. at Laser X on RR 620 (Tuesday’s are half price day).” For – 2, Against – 0, Abstain – 1. The proposition passed.
