6/11/05 Sporting Clays and Skeet Shoot

Fourteen participants (12 shooters) had a great time at the 6/11/05 Sporting Clays and Skeet Shoot at the Capitol City Trap & Skeet Range.  We shot three stations on the hard (master level course) and three stations on the Corporate (easier) course.  First time guest John Carpenter came in first place with 39/50.  Tim Price came in second place with 38/50.  Ron Denison came in third place with his best ever (by far) 37/50.  He was followed by Kenneth Kidd with 31/50, Jesse Price with 30/50, me (Randy Rowley) and Isaac Price with 29/50, Gary McKenzie with 28/50, first time guest Eric Willis with 24/50, Ken Miller with 23/50, first time guest and sporting clays shooter Robin Rowley with 18/50 (although most of her targets were singles), and Regina Kidd with her best ever 16/50.  The last three targets were pretty easy.  The combined group went 210/312 (.673).  The hard targets were significantly harder.  The combined group went 132/288 (.458).  In total the group went 342/600 (.570).

Tim Price really didn't have any competition in his group, but John and Ron had quite a contest.  Ron jumped out to a two bird leave on their first station.  He maintained his lead through their second station.  He went up by two more on their third station.  John caught up two on their fourth station.  On their fifth station John tied it up.  On the last station John went 10 for 10, beating Ron by two.

Everyone but Robin and me also shot at least one round of skeet.  Dick Matteson didn't shoot (because his shoulder was bothering him) but he kept score for Tim's group.
