Our next FCS Chartered Bay Fishing Trip is scheduled for Thursday night, 6/28/07 through Friday night, 6/29/07 with Captain Scott Hibbits near Corpus Christi. Scott guided the group that caught the most fish on our 8/4/05 - 8/5/05 Chartered Bay Fishing Trip. Our primary quarry will be redfish and speckled trout. We will be fishing Baffin Bay, Laguna Madre, or the Land Cut (whichever is producing the best at the time). We will leave the dock at first light on Friday and will fish for 8 or 9 hours. Scott fishes for trout first and then reds. Scott supplies everything except food and drinks. You can bring your own rod and reel if you like. Scott throws predominantly live croaker and/or piggy perch. Be aware that fishing with croaker is kind of like plastic worm fishing for bass. You definitely have to have a feel for it. His rates are $650.00 for four fishermen ($162.50 each). We will meet on 6/28/07 at 6:00 PM at a location to be announced and caravan down to Corpus. We will stay at the Red Roof Inn - two men per room (unless we only have three fishermen, in which case we'll all stay in one room). The inn is on South Padre Island Drive (10 minutes from the dock). We will get something quick to eat on Thursday night. We'll also eat early Friday morning and again on Friday afternoon after the fishing trip. Be prepared to tip Scott. My rule of thumb is 20% for an exceptional effort, 15% for an average effort, and 10% for a fair effort. I do not tip guides who make a poor effort or who deceive us! If you are wanting someone other than you to clean your fish be prepared to pay about .40 a pound.
