6/3/99 North Austin Chapter Meeting minutes

The meeting was held at Larry Dowden’s new home.  Three Officers and one member were present (4 total participants).  A home video on a Mud Run, a video on the upcoming Fall Goose Hunt and a video on Elk hunting were shown.  A discussion was held on upcoming events.  Proposition 1 (approved by the SAC members at their 5/13/99 meeting) was presented to the NAC members present.  It states: “The FCS bylaw regarding membership dues and benefits (section III) should be amended to read that the annual membership due is $12.00 (prorated monthly) and eliminate the corresponding benefits of a T-shirt or cap and a patch.  Window decals will continue to be presented to new members.  T-shirts and caps will continue to be available to members for purchase at the usual prices.”  A vote was taken.  The proposition passed unanimously.  This proposition has now been approved by both chapters of the Club.  The bylaws and all FCS literature that explains the membership dues will be changed accordingly.  Proposition 3 (approved by the SAC members at their 5/13/99 meeting) was presented to the NAC members present.  It stated: “Laser Tag should be placed on the calendar for Tuesday, 6/15/99, 7:00 P.M. at Laser X on RR 620 (Tuesday’s are half price day).  The Secretary noted that Laser X discontinued it’s half price day and proposed that the Laser Tag competition be changed to Saturday, June 12, 1999 due to the fact that we would probably have higher attendance on a Saturday.  A vote was taken.  The proposition passed unanimously.  The Secretary also proposed to place a 3D Archery Shoot (date and time to be announced, tentatively scheduled for July) and a Paint Ball competition (date and time to be announced, tentatively scheduled for December but could be scheduled for October) on the FCS calendar.  A vote was taken.  The proposal passed unanimously.  A discussion was held on Proposition 2 (defeated by the SAC members at their 5/13/99 meeting) and the SAC counter proposal.  The proposition stated: “The FCS 1999 calendar should be amended as follows: The remaining joint meeting for 1999, scheduled for Thursday, 7/1/99 at Pok-E-Jo’s Barbecue on 5th Street should be cancelled.  A SAC meeting should be held in its place at NHC.  Joint Meetings should not be placed on future calendars.”  The SAC counter proposal was to retain the General Meetings on the calendar, however, hold them at the Pok-E-Jo’s on Great Hills Trail.  The NAC members agreed that this was an acceptable compromise.
