Fifteen participants (12 fishermen) had a blast at our first ever 8/4/05 - 8/5/05 Bay Fishing Trip near Corpus Christi. We fished with Captain Rick Loveday and three other captains. We fished the Land Cut and Baffin Bay. We left the dock at 6:00 AM and fished until 2:00 PM (not counting the boat ride back). The boat ride to get to the area where we fished was 55 miles! Eddy Chance, Larry Dowden, and Jim Quimby caught about 110 lbs. of fish. Steve Watkins and first time guests Jadon and Joseph Newman caught about 70 lbs. I, Randy Rowley, Derrich Pollock, and Mr. Charlie Batts caught about 50 lbs. Warren Hoke, David Chalmers, and Ken Miller caught about 40 lbs. All total we caught about 270 lbs. of fish (22.50 lbs. each)! Rick caught a 28 1/2" trout (but released it because big trout are not good eating). Mr. Batts caught a 26" redfish. Several participants caught large redfish and several more got off the hooks. Larry had one break his line! We fished primarily with live piggy perch and croakers. Mr. Batts caught a limit of trout and redfish. Derrich and I got so disgusted with him catching so many fish (compared to our few) that we almost pushed him in the bay!
