Fourteen participants (eleven men and three youth) had a great time at the Quarterly Sporting Clays Shoot held on 8/25/01. There was a tie for first place between Larry Dowden and Paul Ellis with 32/50 targets broken. Larry recently purchased a Browning Citori and it paid off handsomely giving him his first victory at FCS Sporting Clays. Paul is a guest who, along with his neighbor, Jonathan Prince, asked if they could tag along with us. Paul led from the third station on but Larry caught him on the last station. This is the first time that Paul had shot in four years! Second place was also a tie between Randy Rowley and Tim Price with 31 clays broken. This was also tightly contested with Randy leading also from the third station on but Tim caught him also on the last station. Derrich Pollock took third with 26 clays hit. He was followed by John Coleman with 24, Ron Denison with 18, Jim Kesterson (guest) and Jesse Price with 15, Jonathan Prince (first time shooter) with 13, and Dennis Koch with 12.
