8/29/98 Sporting Clays Shoot

The old attendance record and several clay targets were shattered at the Semi-Annual Shotgun Shoot on Saturday, August 29, 1998, at the Capitol City Trap & Skeet Range.  Twenty six men, boys, and one guests girlfriend had a great and challenging time (our old attendance record was 14).  We were only expecting around 10 shooters, so the range only had two attendants on duty.  Consequently, it took around four hours to go through the course!  Tim Price came in first in his group and first overall (as usual).  Warren Hoke and I, Randy Rowley, tied for first place in our group.  As a side note, the officers ask for men who are planning on attending the next Shotgun Shoot to sign up or inform the President that they are coming.  We need to give the range manager an accurate representation of how many shooters to expect.  When large numbers of men just “show up” it creates problems with range operations and is unfair to those members who did sign up (causing what should be a two hour outing to drag on for four hours).  Please be considerate and sign up!
