I, Randy Rowley, propose that we go on a Blast and Cast (Duck Hunt/Bay Fishing Trip). Many members have informed me that they would like to try this type of outing. Although many communities along the coast have outfitters with this specialty, Rockport has the most options. Below is a link to one of the many outfitters in the Rockport area that do combo trips. This trip could be in addition to our Annual Goose/Duck Hunt with W.S. Sherrill.
The Ace in the Hole guide service charges $225.00 for a combo trip. They have eight blinds on the bays and flats that are approximately 4' x 8'. They normally hunt no more than three hunters to a blind. They start out duck hunting until about 10:00 AM with fishing for speckled trout, redfish, drum, and possibly flounder following after they pick you up from the blind. They supply a guide for both hunting and fishing. They seem to be more cast than blast oriented but there's space on their website devoted to hunting. Although they are more expensive than their competitors they seem to be our best option because they have more blinds to choose from.
