Richard,
My name is Randy Rowley and I am the President of The Fellowship of Christian Sportsmen, a local hunting and fishing club. We are not strangers to your facility. We have had 47 shoots (primarily sporting clays and skeet) at Capitol City since March 20, 1993. We have had 101 participants in the past 12 1/2 years. We started out doing two shoots a year. In 1998 we increased to three shoots. In 1999 we increased to four. In 2000 we had three. In 2001 we increased to five. In 2002 and 2003 we had four. In 2004 we increased to seven. This year we have had seven shoots so far and will have another one on December the 10th. Next year we have 10 shoots planned.
I attribute our increased attendance to two things. One is increased promotion. The other is your manager, Eddie Dwyer.
I have never written a letter of commendation before in my life. I, and my fellow Club members, have certainly received good service in the past. In many cases when we receive good service I state that fact on our Website at http://www.fcs-texas.com/Service_Reviews.htm. However, the service that we have received from some very good outfitters and guides over the years pales in comparison to our experiences with Eddie.
He really knows how to make people feel welcomed and appreciated. He has never failed to greet us with a smile and thank us for coming out to shoot. As we are primarily hunters he lets us know when the course has been set at master level, which saves us considerable frustration. Whenever I call him (while we're out on the sporting clays field) to let him know that a trap has malfunctioned he gets it fixed almost immediately. He also has his trappers set varied and challenging courses. The stations are different every time that we come out.
In 2002 we seriously considered changing our clay target shoots to a five stand facility in Marble Falls. We even tried Austin Rifle Range for skeet. We had gotten our fill of the bad attitude of Capitol City's former manager. I don't wish to rehash the past but suffice it to say that Eddie is a breath of fresh air. His enthusiasm is infectious. There has been a tremendous change in the atmosphere of Capitol City since he has taken over. This is not just my opinion; several of my members have commented on how the atmosphere has improved and on Eddie's great attitude.
I do not wish to downplay the considerable improvements that were made with the new traps, counters, etc. However, if we're given a choice of the old traps and Eddie or the new traps and the former manager, we'll take Eddie hands down.
Thank you for hiring him and I hope that you do whatever it takes to keep him on your staff.
