Our Purpose

FCS In Action (what we do)

We host quality and affordable family events year round throughout the state including, but not limited to:

We have hosted many other events, including:

We host dozens of quality family events year round and add new events each year.  Evening events last around 2 ˝ hours and hunting and fishing trips last from one to three days.

We attempt to balance “expensive” verses “cheap” events.  We have found from many years of experience that “cheap” events usually result in poor harvests and in frustrated participants who will not return.  We prefer to pay a standard land owner/outfitter/guide rate to have a better chance of success.  Additional expenses often include tips, game cleaning fees (for those who wish to have their game cleaned), motel rooms, gas, and food.  At many events we are able to cut expenses by car pooling, sharing motel rooms, camping, and cooking out.

For hunts a first time guest is commonly paired with the member who brought him or her, or a member who knows him or her, or one of the Club officers so he or she will have a better opportunity to learn about the Club and our field rules.  Minors are required to hunt, shoot, or fish with the man or woman who they are related to or with their sponsor.  FCS members are more than happy to teach newcomers.  We are patient and enjoy sharing what we know.  People of all skill levels attend FCS events – from veterans to first timers.

All adult members and guests who participate in potentially dangerous FCS events must sign a lifetime  Fellowship of Christian Sportsmen (FCS) Members and Guests Release of Liability Waiver.  The parents, guardians, or conservators of youth who do not have a parent, guardian, or conservator who is an adult FCS member must sign a one time Fellowship of Christian Sportsmen (FCS) Members and Guests Release of Liability Waiver prior to participation in potentially dangerous FCS activities.  The Release of Liability Waiver is valid until the youth turns 18 years old.

We have Bible studies or devotionals and prayer time at several FCS events.  We have carried out numerous ministry projects including cooking church dinners, making donations to Operation Orphans and Cross Trail Outfitters, roofing a house, helping families move into their new houses, purchasing and installing a water heater for a family in need, and donating and delivering wild game to families in need.

Our quarterly newsletter Hunting His Way incorporates some of the information on this website (Through the Crosshairs - President's Column and current Prayer Requests and Praises) but does not include any information that is not on this website.  The newsletters are primarily intended for supporting members who do not have web access.  Presently only 1 of 60 supporting members does not have web access, so we only mail one newsletter a quarter.  If you would like an issue let me, Randy Rowley, know and we will e-mail (if you have an e-mail address we will send it to you electronically) or mail you the latest edition.  We will mail a prospective FCS adult member one newsletter.  After a prospective FCS adult member has received a newsletter we will not mail him or her another one unless he or she becomes a supporting FCS adult member, and he or she does not have web access).

We financially support the NRA.

We send out regular (usually weekly) e-mails on FCS news and sportsmen’s topics.  I, Randy Rowley, will be happy to add you to my distribution list.  There is no charge for this service and you can unsubscribe at any time.

We invite articles, recipes, classifieds, letters, devotionals, cartoons, photos, and other material from FCS members and guests (only) but reserve the right to edit and refuse to post the material.  We can only use original submissions unless the author's work is not copyrighted.  No material on this website or on one of our newsletters may be reproduced in print or electronically without my written/electronic permission.

FCS Membership Information

We have over 200 members.  FCS membership, church attendance or membership, and/or being a Christian is not required in order to participate in FCS events or join FCS.  However, the FCS Membership Covenant requires members to conduct themselves as Christian sportsmen during FCS events.  This will be difficult to do if a man or woman is not a Christian, as he or she will not know how a Christian is supposed to act.  Just like it will be difficult for someone without a background in engineering to conduct himself or herself as an engineer, for example.

FCS adult membership is available to men and women, 18 years old and older, without regard to race, national origin, age, denominational preference, or political persuasion.  Members consist of those men and women who have expressed a desire to be a member by completing an FCS Adult Membership Application and who have paid an FCS adult initial membership due.

FCS adult membership initial dues are $30.00.  New adult members who choose a FCS Gear membership benefit item that costs more than $14 will have to pay an increased due, according to the cost of the item.  Exceptions to the $30.00 initial adult membership dues are noted on the FCS Adult Membership Application and the FCS Gear web page.  A new FCS adult member who wishes to have his or her membership benefit mailed must also cover the cost of postage and a large envelope (see the FCS Adult Membership Application and the FCS Gear web page for specific postage and envelope amounts).

FCS adult membership renewal dues are $20.00.  Renewing FCS adult members receive no FCS Gear membership benefit; however, renewing FCS adult members who wish to purchase FCS Gear at the time of their renewals can do so as FCS Gear can be purchased at any time.  All youth who do not have a parent, guardian, or conservator who is a FCS member are required to complete a FCS Youth Membership Application prior to participation in FCS activities.  Youth do not pay a membership due.  For children who do not have a parent, guardian, or conservator who can come to events, we'll loan them one!
